For pulling either the cup plugs or emulsion tube holders (flat top) out of the tops of metering blocks, for a proper cleaning of main wells and idle wells and emulsion tubes, I use about a 1" long 6-32 screw and nut and flat washers, and a 1/4" flat washer, and I...
- center punch cup plugs or tube holders as close to center as you can for drill starting - keep all drilling operations as straight in as you can - drill thru cup plugs with 1/16" drill for starters, carefully if idle feed restrictions are vertical below idle well cup plugs - drill about 1/4" deep with 1/16" drill into e-tube holders - (I go through a number of 1/16" drill bits to do the majority of drilling to start things, if the ultimate drill size is bigger obviously, to save my numbered drill bits) - drill with #36 drill bit, thru cup plugs, or ~1/4" deep into tube holders - tap 6-32 threads, thru cup plugs, or ~3/16" deep into tube holders - wind a 6-32 nut onto the 6-32 screw, then stack on the metering block, bottom to top, a 1/4" flat washer, and a couple 6-32 flat washers - thread the screw into the cup plug or the tube holder, center the 1/4" flat washer, and tighten the nut down... out they come...
... and when reinstalling the tube holders, tap them in, and then install a 1/8" or 3/16" long 6-32 brass set screw into their top to close them back up up top.
